Webdesign and development

A website that matches what you need: WordPress, Next.js with a headless CMS, or fully hand-built.

  • WordPress
  • Next.js
  • Headless CMS
  • SEO

At bouwman.io your website is built by one person in the Netherlands, who designs it, builds it and stays reachable afterwards: in WordPress if you want to update things yourself, or as a custom build when it needs to be faster or more specific. It’s there for business owners and small companies that want a professional site without having to learn the technical side.

A website is often the first contact between your business and a potential customer. I build sites that look professional, load fast and work well on every screen, without you ever having to learn to code.

What you can choose from

There is no single best technology, there is a best one for your situation. I work with three:

  • WordPress, usually with Elementor Pro, if you want to update pages and text yourself without calling me
  • Next.js with a headless CMS, if the site mainly has to be very fast while you still keep a comfortable admin environment
  • Fully hand-built, if it’s a small site that rarely changes; that is the fastest and the cheapest to maintain

I’ll explain what each of the three means for your costs, your speed and how much you can do yourself. Then you choose.

What you get

  • A website built around what your business actually needs, not a generic template
  • Fast load times and a layout that works well on phone, tablet and desktop
  • Basic SEO settings properly configured from the start, so Google can find your site
  • A walkthrough of how to edit your own text and images after delivery
  • One point of contact throughout the whole process, no rotating cast of contacts

Who it’s for

For business owners who want a website that just works, without having to dive into the technical side themselves. From a first website to replacing an outdated one.

Frequently asked questions

Which technology will you choose for my website?

It depends on what you want to be able to do. If you want to edit pages and text yourself, WordPress is usually the most comfortable choice. If the site mainly has to be very fast, I'll build it in Next.js with a headless CMS. If it's a small site that rarely changes, hand-built is often the simplest and cheapest to maintain. I'll explain the differences in plain language and you choose.

How long does it take to build a website?

That depends on the scope, but for an average business website you can expect a few weeks from the first conversation to delivery. You'll get a clear planning upfront.

Can I edit the text and images myself after delivery?

Yes. With WordPress and with a headless CMS you get an admin environment you can log into yourself, plus a walkthrough of how to use it. With a hand-built site we agree upfront on what you want to be able to change yourself.

Do you also work with an existing website?

Yes. I can refresh or improve an existing site, or move it to a different platform. I do that while preserving your existing addresses, so you don't lose visitors or your position in Google.

What does it cost to have a website built?

A simple website starts at EUR 750 excluding VAT, an average business website at EUR 1,500, and an advanced site at EUR 2,500. Those are starting points, not final amounts: no two websites are the same, so after a short conversation you always get a quote for your own situation.

Wouldn't I be better off building my own site with a website builder?

Sometimes, yes. For a simple site you want to maintain yourself and that little depends on, a website builder can be fine. Having it built becomes worthwhile once the site needs to bring in customers, be faster or easier to find, or you simply don't want to spend your time on it. I'll tell you honestly when it's the other way round.

Wondering whether this fits your situation?

A short conversation is enough to work out what's needed. No obligations, no technical story.
